About Cala Ratjada

Located on the north-eastern tip of Mallorca on the Punta de Capdepera peninsula, Cala Ratjada is the closest point in Mallorca to the island of Menorca from where on a clear day you can see Ciutadella.

Still an active fishing port and ferry crossing to Menorca, Cala Ratjada and its rocky coastline have retained much of its traditional ways despite an influx of tourists during the summer.

During June, July and August the promenade between Playa Son Moll and Cala Gat is alive with people enjoying their summer holidays. During the off-season, the seafront businesses close down for the winter, leaving a handful of bars open catering to locals and expats who have settled in the area.

Cala Ratjada is an excellent choice if you are looking to avoid the purpose-built resort hotels and is perfect to use as a base for exploring the east of the island.
