Severe Weather Disrupts Palma de Mallorca Airport Once Again

On Saturday morning, 26 October 2024, a severe storm caused chaos again at Palma de Mallorca Airport. There were extensive flight delays of two to three hours each, and in some cases even longer. Arriving flights were particularly affected; some flights were cancelled altogether.
In addition to the unfavourable weather conditions in Mallorca, there were also weather problems at some destination and departure airports, which further worsened the general situation.
Although the weather situation in Mallorca has since improved, some effects of yesterday’s problems can still be felt today, Sunday, the 27th of October. During severe weather, the interval between departures must be increased for safety reasons, leading to a backlog that takes time to clear.
Travellers are encouraged to regularly monitor their departure and arrival times and, if uncertain, to contact their airline.
