The bus companies TIB and EMT in Mallorca are set to strike on Monday, 28 October 2024.
Both Palma’s EMT city buses and the TIB network that serves the rest of the island will be affected. To mitigate disruption, the Balearic government has mandated minimum service levels, requiring 50 percent of EMT buses and 60 percent of TIB buses to continue running. Passengers can check updated timetables for the strike day on the bus companies’ websites.
The strike follows employees’ calls for better working conditions and higher wages. Train and metro services will not be impacted by this industrial action and are scheduled to run as usual.
If no agreement is reached, additional strikes are planned for 11, 28, and 29 November, as well as 5, 9, and 23 December.
