The Mallorcan Tourism Foundation or Fundació Mallorca Turisme has been awarded a certificate in excellence and quality by the World Tourism Organisation (UNTWO). The UNTWO is the United Nations’ agency responsible for the promotion of responsible, sustainable and universally accessible tourism.
The Fundació Mallorca Turisme is only the fourth organisation in the world and the very first in Europe to receive this certification. It is valid for four years, with the possibility of being renewed after this time.
In the words of Catalina Cladera, President of the Consell Insular de Mallorca: “Our island has demonstrated, through this comprehensive examination, that the strategy and formulas for tourism management are in line with the principles promoted by UNWTO.”
