A Ryanair aeroplane made an emergency landing at Palma de Mallorca Airport due to a fire warning.

On the morning of the 29th of May according to a Europa Press report, sources from Aena in Palma’s Son Sant Joan airport indicated that a Ryanair aircraft had to make the emergency landing because of a fire warning in the landing gear.

The aircraft, which was carrying 148 passengers took off from Palma Airport at 6:43 was on its way to Memmingen (Germany).  At 7:20 it requested permission to make an emergency landing.

The aircraft pilots reported a fire warning in the landing gear, so they requested to return to the departure airport.

The situation forced the airport to activate its emergency landing procedure, although it wasn’t necessary to assist any passengers due to injuries or for smoke inhalation or shock.

After the crisis was over and the emergency status deactivated  experts started to investigate the possible causes for the failure of the fire warning light which made it come on falsely.
